This morning I was helping in Princess's class at school.
I was working with the kids counting pennies as well as writing letters to Santa. When I asked a class-mate of her's to call Princess over because it was her turn, of course the child went to where Princess was and tapped her shoulder. He said, "Your Mom says to go over there."
Princess sighed and acted all put out, put her pencil down and came over with a shy grin. She had to hug me of course, and then she sat and we got to work. As she did her assignment, I was admiring her and noticed something in her hair. Upon further inspection, it was clear that she had oatmeal from her breakfast in her hair! LOL
I started picking it out gently and whispered to her what I was doing. She looked horrified, and whispered back, "It sure is a good thing none of my friends saw that in there. That would have taken away my popularity!"
I didn't even know that she knew the word, let alone how to use it properly!

I think it's sweet that she's precocious enough to understand popularity but not above hugging you in front of her classmates.
Oh my! It's starting! You're in for so much trouble! Before you know it boys will be lined up just to be seen with her!
L- Yes, it is sweet:) She is at a cool age. She acts all shy about having me there, yet proud too. When the teacher had them all do the hip hip hooray thing and thank me for helping, you would have thought by the look on her face that I had just found the cure for cancer or something! LOL
Haha that's hilarious! Kids will say the darndest things huh?
Vince- Dude! Don't remind me:(
Jude-I know it! She is a hoot, I tell ya.
Happy- Good point! LOL She really DOES seem to be "popular". Kinda scary, the way other kids react to her. I am glad she had this chance to be around other kids and not just her brothers, who get in moods where any sound she makes or move she makes annoys them. She has a fresh start and can be herself in school and not get bugged because of it. The kids really do seem to hang on her every word, look up to her and follow her lead. Even in her dance class, since she was three. If she does something, the other girls do it. Even if she goes to the front of lines, no one says anything. Everyone seems to part and let her through. I have said something sometimes (if I happen to be around) about letting other kids be first once in a while and every dern kid looks at me like I have four heads. Like I don't understand the code of conduct, it is just understood that Princess does what she wants and everyone is happy with it. Kinda weird. She is in for a rude awakening one day! Maybe it is good that her brothers keep her grounded and don't worship her like everyone else.
